If I just close my eyes
I can see it all again
The sun beating down
And the sand against my skin

The perfectly warm breeze
That blows problems away
There is little I wouldn’t do
Just to buy another day

The look of your eyes
Against the water and the moon
Like an angel descending from above
Can’t believe I must leave so soon

But to be blessed with the feeling
Even for such a short while
Doesn’t leave me the right
To complain for the distance, how many a mile

As long as I remember
The feelings can come by
And all I have to do
Is look behind closed eyes

When will I know how it all goes together?
Why some say sure, but others say never.
It all seems so easy like the first day of school,
But no one understands, and I look like a fool.
Some think I’m crazy; others call me nice.
There just isn’t anyone that calls me just right.
I’m tired of thinking and changing and such.
Maybe give me a chance; you’ll find out much.
Who gives a damn what everyone thinks.
Make them change. Let them work out the kinks.
Cause I’ve battled against a million before.
I took all they had, and asked for more.
So let them come. Let them try.
When I look in your eyes there’s a force I can’t deny.
But it’s not my choice; I barely care anymore.
Cause if you don’t want it to work; then it ain’t worth fighting for.
Life goes on. I take it with salt and a lime.
Don’t miss the opportunity; that comes once a lifetime.

The world we know it is ending. For better or for worse, times are changing. As we inch closer to electing a new president of the United States of America, we also inch closer to a world depression. Times have changed. It’s no longer possible to sit and wait for the best to come along. Whoever receives the nomination for president will inherit a world in turmoil, a world that is waiting to see what we Americans do. Even though we may not be the economic power we once were; we Americans are still the leaders of this world. Only we have the power to make things better, and these next couple months are going to show us if we still have what it takes to be the voice of reason for the world. It isn’t panic time but it is time to do something. We have to take a chance. America is a country built on taking chances. We took a chance when the Declaration of Independence was written; we took a chance by calling out our homeland and the greatest military in the world when we chose to fight Great Britain. We took a chance when we got the greatest men in American history to write a constitution for a new government that had never been proven, had never worked, but it still working today. Come November 4th we Americans are going to be asked to take another chance, and this one may be even bigger. This election will decide if we continue to be a world power or if we accept taking a break. The world is losing respect for us. We are just a shadow of our former selves. Now I’m not saying that I can predict the future because I can’t, but at some point in time we have to choose. That day is November 4th. We as Americans have to decide if John McCain or Barack Obama will lead us into the fire, and we have to pray that they can lead us out. It’s true that John McCain is older, more experienced, he’s been tested before and survived, but has he been tested in this magnitude? Has anyone? Of course now its ‘Obama has no experience, he’s never been in any kind of crisis, and he can’t possibly be ready to lead this country’ but go back to the Declaration of Independence. Did any of those men know what they were getting themselves into? And when The Constitution was written. Those men knew nothing other than that they wanted the same thing. A country that is free. The greatest men of our country, George Washington, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and John Adams went into that crisis with no experience, with nothing more than a dream and a little hope that they, with a little faith, could create the very ground that the greatest country in the world is based on. And they did it. Is Barack Obama the next George Washington? No, he is not, but he does have what made those men great, a dream, and hope. In a world that is cracking, not yet falling apart, but cracking, sometimes all we need is hope. Will Obama be elected? Will Obama be a good president? Can he stop this economic whirlpool? We can’t say right now, and he may not be any of those things in the end. But never underestimate the power of hope. Never underestimate the power of a man with a dream. Dr. Martin Luther king Jr. had nothing more than a dream and he changed America, and the entire world, forever. Barack Obama isn’t Dr. martin Luther King Jr., but, in the spirit of the American dream, everybody deserves their chance. And on November 4th, we Americans are going to decide if we can give this one man a chance to do what he believes is right to fix this nation and restore our role in the world as the leader. I can only hope that we give this man a chance, because if we wait, America will never again be what it was. What is scarier? Electing a black man who wants to restore the United States of America back to what it was, or electing a man who believes that he has seen it all. Who believes that he will not be tested. John McCain. A man who believes in the old style of the world, where America is so much better than everyone else that we can just wait out the biggest crisis since the great depression. John McCain wants to stick with what has always worked in the past. That strategy may work for awhile but eventually everyone else catches up. Use the Revolution as an example, John McCain wants to stand in lines and shoot one row at a time until one side gives up, the old way of fighting, Barack Obama wants to hide behind the trees, and hide behind rocks and keep fighting. Obama wants to change the ways, change our styles. We’ve haven’t done this in awhile but which style helped us win the Revolutionary War? We must adapt. We must have change. We must prevail. And on November 4th, we Americans are going to decide how we want to fight this crisis. Standing there and waiting for the rest of the world to fire as we wait our turn. Or taking a new approach that may just help us come out on top. I know who I’m voting for. Voting for Barack Obama may come with certain risks, but certain risks may mean certain reward, and we as Americans deserve that again. Obama ’08.
